On Monday, Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, welcomed the leader of the Conservative Party, David Cameron, to Barnet, ahead of the forthcoming General Election next year.
On his visit to the borough, Cameron hosted a ‘Cameron Direct’ public meeting at Hasmonean High School in Finchley where he answered questions from residents on issues ranging from the environment and economy to Cyprus and Afghanistan. He was then guest of honour at a reception for over 300 guests in the Emerald Suite in the North London Business Park, Oakleigh Road South.
Theresa said, “It was great to welcome David Cameron to Barnet and to what will be a crucial battleground at the next General Election. David responded to a wide range of questions on domestic politics and international concerns. This was an important opportunity for Barnet residents to meet and question David on the issues which concern them and to hear directly from him what approach he would take if the Conservatives win the General Election.”
